SummaryUnder general direction, incumbent(s) creates, maintains, and facilitates leadership, supervisory, administrative, and managerial proficiencies to meet the needs, mission, goals, and objectives of the school and its stakeholders.
Essential Functions- Provide strong instructional leadership for implementation of Arizona academic standards addressed in the District’s curriculum.
- Develop and nurture a productive learning climate.
- Involve and lead staff in interpreting test data to improve instruction and achievement.
- Evaluate the school’s instructional strategies and make adjustments as necessary in order to achieve success in all programs.
- Supervise and evaluate staff members in accordance with District procedures.
- Safeguard health and well‑being of pupils and staff.
- Establish professional relationships with school patrons.
- Maintain and improve the physical aspects of the school plant.
- Administer the financial budget of the school plant and program.
- Select, orient and develop school personnel.
- Implement Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
- Three years of verified teaching experience in grades Prekindergarten-12;
- Completion of a program in educational administration for principals;
- A valid Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
- A valid Arizona Department of Education Principal Certification or evidence of eligibility to receive Arizona Principal Certification prior to the first day of the contract.
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- A practicum as a principal or 2 years of verified experience as a principal or assistant principal in grades Prekindergarten-12.
