Overview
Arrowhead BMW is hiring a Recon Service Technician Apprentice to support our multi-store Used Car Reconditioning Department, which serves BMW, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, and the INEOS Grenadier. This is a strong entry-level role for candidates who are eager to grow their careers in the automotive industry and gain experience with multiple luxury brands.
As a Recon Apprentice, you will support our technicians and shop operations by assisting with reconditioning work on pre-owned vehicles, maintaining shop organization, and performing routine inspections and maintenance tasks. You will work closely with Service Technicians and Shop Foremen while gaining hands-on experience across multiple premium brands.
What You’ll Do- Assist technicians with repair orders, diagnostics, inspections, and road tests
- Document repair findings, test results, and work performed
- Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions
- Manage shop tools, equipment, and materials with accuracy and care
- Support warranty parts returns and parts delivery to technicians
- Conduct routine equipment and safety inspections (hoists, extinguishers, eye wash stations, etc.)
- Perform removal and recycling of used tires, batteries, scrap metals, and other materials
- Execute daily/weekly/monthly shop maintenance tasks (including floor scrubber and other equipment)
- Ensure vehicles are returned in clean condition
- Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled
- Comply with dealership safety standards and operational policies
- Perform other duties as assigned to support reconditioning and shop operations
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage time efficiently and follow processes
- Interest in automotive repair or dealership operations (ideal for candidates pursuing a technical career path)
- Positive attitude and constructive communication with team members
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple stores
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and drive for extended periods
- Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs
- Work performed in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise
- Safe driving practices and compliance with dealership safety standards
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Successful criminal background check
- Clear pre-employment drug screen
