Summary:

A leading U.S.

-based manufacturer of high-precision components for energy, aerospace, and defense applications is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team. This position supports the full product lifecycle from new product introduction (NPI) to process optimization and legacy product requalification within a regulated machining environment. The company specializes in advanced manufacturing techniques including CNC milling, EDM (wire and sinker), 3-axis creep feed, and 5-axis grinding.

In this hands‑on engineering role, you'll serve as a technical liaison with major OEM customers, contributing directly to cutting‑edge manufacturing programs while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for complex precision parts using multi‑axis CNC milling, EDM, and advanced grinding methods.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for key customers, managing engineering communication and change control.
  • Lead process validation and requalification efforts for legacy parts, ensuring compliance with internal and customer timelines.
  • Define machining strategies (tool paths, fixtures, feeds/speeds, EDM parameters) to maximize quality, efficiency, and tool life.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Tooling, and external vendors to implement effective, scalable production solutions.
  • Conduct root‑cause analyses, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts aimed at improving yield and reducing scrap.
  • Mentor junior team members and assist with training operators on new or revised processes.
  • Support CAD/CAM programming and simulation using tools such as Mastercam, Vericut, and Solid Works.
  • Participate in audits, first‑article inspections (FAI), and documentation packages (e.g., PPAP/FAI).
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, energy, automotive, or medical devices.
  • Must have experience in EDM (Electronic Discharge Machining) programming and / or grinding.
  • Additional experience is a plus in multi‑axis CNC milling.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM platforms (e.g., Mastercam, Solid Works).
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
Why is This a Great Opportunity:

Fantastic organization with top tier customers, stable work, long‑tenured employees (30‑40 years in some cases), and a fun atmosphere.
