Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director, Employee Relations and Engagement, this position serves as a partner on human resource-related issues and processes. The HR Partner develops and manages partnerships across the College to deliver value-added service to management and employees in support of the College mission. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employee relations and investigations, performance management, job description development, policy interpretation and implementation, recruitment/employment processes, and employment law compliance including FMLA case management.
- The HR Partner is a member of the HR Leadership Team and contributes to the strategic development of HR initiatives, programs and goals.
- Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation and assists in the development and implementation of Human Resources personnel policies and procedures.
- Leads the investigation and resolution of complex employee relations issues.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to department management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Assists with identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Guides employees and managers on leave policies and procedures inclusive of assisting with tracking and monitoring sick/FMLA leaves for employees.
- Helps to monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the College's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
- Interprets employees labor contract(s) to provide guidance to managers and/or leadership; maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
- Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Partners in the recruitment efforts for all regular and temporary employees; collaborates in the development of offers for new hires and transfers in collaboration with Employment and Compensation teams.
- Serves on selection committees and interview teams, as appropriate.
- Provides guidance and input on organization restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies department training and individual coaching needs and partners with the Employee Development Center to develop and deliver solutions.
- Leads and monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Conducts exit interviews as appropriate.
- Assists the Assistant General Counsel in investigations of employee complaints or concerns, as needed.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

- Education
- BA or BS in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
- Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' human resources experience required.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee relations, compensation practices, organizational development, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws required.
