Position Summary

The Family Law Attorney is responsible for managing a caseload of domestic relations matters from intake through resolution, including divorce, custody, support, and related litigation. This role involves direct client interaction, court appearances, legal drafting, negotiation, and collaboration with internal team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of family law matters including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, and protective orders
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
• Appear in Maryland courts for hearings, conferences, and trials
• Provide strategic legal advice and client counseling
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation
• Maintain accurate case files and billing/time records (if applicable)
• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys
• Comply with all Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct

Qualifications

Required:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license and good standing with the Maryland State Bar
• 3+ years of family law or litigation experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
• Client-focused mindset
• Trial or courtroom experience

Preferred:

• Mediation or settlement conference experience
• Familiarity with Maryland family law procedures

Compensation & Benefits

$100, per year
, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
