Base Pay Range$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Opening & Closing Duties- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required system start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening the back door of the store for deliveries.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
- Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
- Ensure yard access for vendor deliveries and register all related sales on assigned cash registers, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
- Assist with and coach other team members to work with the warehouse and vendor ordering process as orders are created, reviewed, and received, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries.
- Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and assist in reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
- Assist manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
- Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed with team members.
- Responsible for basic department pricing and making daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed for accurate pricing of products. Ensure any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations are completed accurately and within required time frame.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports, counts, ledgers, and bill payment as necessary or as requested.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance, including requesting repairs as required.
- Assist with separation of food items (raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies (e.g., foods on bottom shelves). For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out method and restock outs.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Assist at pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
- Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.
- Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks when store management is not present.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Eligible for employment despite arrest or conviction records.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
