Seafood Team Member (Service Counter) – Part Time
Join Whole Foods Market as a Seafood Team Member, providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members at all times. All duties are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures and WFM core values.
Base Pay Range$15.00 / hr – $24.40 / hr
Responsibilities- Maintain a fresh and appealing display by checking product quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out‑of‑date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned.
- Maintain accurate department signage and pricing.
- Maintain back stock in good order.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑organized working and shopping environment.
- Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
- Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required.
- Skin, bone, cook or smoke fish; box up, label, and date cooked fish.
- Assist with periodic inventory checks.
- Arrive at work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
- Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
- Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
- Proactive selling skills.
- Basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
- Proactive label reading and product familiarity.
- Assist with periodic inventory checks.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to deliver clear, respectful information to customers, vendors, and team members.
- Meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
- Follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with urgency.
- Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals.
No prior retail experience required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Stand/walk 6‑8 hours per 8‑hour day.
- Single grasp, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Motion: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90°F.
- Work in wet and cold environment.
- Handle knives and other cutting equipment.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
