The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them, providing assistance, maintaining store presentation, and supporting the Ross brand.

• Practice safety first and maintain a safe, clutter‑free environment.
• Greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and friendly conversation.
• Assist customers at the register, answer questions, and handle transactions accurately.
• Quickly respond to customer service calls and resolve issues courteously.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restrooms).
• Handle merchandise receipts, second‑stage merchandising, and restock as required.
• Follow loss‑prevention, short‑age, and protection programs.
• Safeguard confidential information, cash, and credit card details.
• Follow mark‑out and disposal procedures.
• Execute cash, check, and refund policies with accuracy.
• Work efficiently and minimize process steps.

• Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail.

• Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
• Stand, walk, and move around the store for 100% of the shift.
• Bend at waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lb; stockroom shifts may require lifting >20 lb.
• Operate janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and assigned supplies.
