POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Engineering Department, including the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. This role develops, coordinates, and monitors the property’s maintenance program to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and staff. The Chief Engineer also supervises, trains, and manages all Engineering personnel.

This industry operates seven (7) days per week, twenty‑four (24) hours per day. Regular and reliable attendance, in accordance with company standards, is essential for success in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2‑3 years of supervisory and maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of the English language with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced maintenance knowledge and aptitude, with experience managing all aspects of an Engineering Department. Experience with modern building systems, controls, and preventive maintenance programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with hotel systems such as MICROS is a plus.
