* Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Computer Science or Information Systems; MBA preferred.
* Minimum 5 years in data engineering or architecture and 3+ years in AI/ML solution design and delivery.
* 3+ years in a client-facing role within professional services or consulting; experience in pre-sales, solution design, and/or sales highly preferred.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to provide project oversight.
* Expert-level knowledge of Databricks and its ecosystem, including:  + Lakehouse architecture (Delta Lake, medallion design).  + Governance and security using Unity Catalog.  + Streaming ingestion and processing with Delta Live Tables.  + ML enablement (feature store, ML pipelines).  + Databricks Apps and SDLC best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, telemetry).
* Experience integrating Databricks with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and BI tools; familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid environments is a plus.
* Understanding of key aspects of modern data platforms such as Data Engineering, Data Ops, Analytics Enablement, and Governance (with emphasis on Databricks-native capabilities rather than legacy MDM).
* Ability to define, propose, and implement enterprise lakehouse architectures leveraging Databricks.
* Knowledge of complementary technologies like Snowflake, Kafka, and streaming frameworks is helpful.
* Proven experience designing and delivering AI/ML solutions integrated with Databricks is required.
* Ability to lead AI-driven solution strategies and mentor teams on advanced machine learning practices is expected.
* Relevant Databricks certifications (Data Engineer Professional, Machine Learning Professional) or willingness to obtain.
* Understanding of adjacent solution areas such as Cloud, Dev Ops, and AI as they pertain to Databricks and modern data ecosystems.
* Relevant certifications are nice to have, but obtaining certifications while in the role will be an expectation
* Demonstrated ability to succeed in a role focused on the achievement of sales targets preferred.
* Relevant demonstrated thought leadership: presentations, articles, lectures, blogs, etc.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to provide project oversight.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders and decision-makers, and an ability to communicate complex ideas to all levels of the business.
* Strong business acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
* Proven leadership, management, and team-building skills, and the ability to mentor and coach others.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support client sales opportunities and engagements, expected travel up to 10%.
* Employees who are not actively deployed on a client project and reside within a one-hour commute of an Apex branch office are expected to work onsite at least once per week.
