Accounting Adviser

Description

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as an Accounting Adviser at our Headquarters in Glen Allen, VA or at our White Oaks General Office Building in Bridgeport, WV.

• This role serves as a technical accounting expert and monitors corporate accounting and reporting issues, evaluates implications of developments and advises senior management.
• Seeks out an implements process improvements related to the new ERP system and other accounting systems.
• Regular communication with senior management and routinely interacts with internal and external customers.
• Provides leadership including functional advice and training. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

• 8+ years of general accounting experience, or 7+ years of public accounting experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices, and procedures.
• Excellent computer skills, including Excel.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to handle concurrent projects effectively, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work consistently.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Master (Typically two years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a master's degree.)

Accounting, Business, or Finance

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
