Position Title: Deposit Operations Associate II
Location: Glen Allen, VA
Clearance Requirements: None
Position Status: Contract
Pay Rate: $32/hr on W2
Responsibilities- Perform intermediate to advanced deposit maintenance for demand deposit, savings, and time deposit accounts
- Respond to internal and customer inquiries within defined service level agreements (SLAs)
- Own requests end-to-end, from intake through resolution and closure
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations
, including BSA/AML policies and procedures - Process and research complex exception items such as Positive Pay, Stop Payments, Unposted Items, Adjustments, and RIP items
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on deposit transactions and imaged documents
- Support dual control standards and identify potential operational or compliance risks
- Process legal and regulatory documents including subpoenas, garnishments, levies, dormancy, and escheatment
- Participate in year-end regulatory tax reporting and corrective reporting activities
- Perform ICS/CDARS boarding to core banking systems with a high degree of accuracy
- Assist with basic account reconciliations and general ledger (GL) understanding
- Utilize multiple systems to research and resolve complex deposit issues
- Support incoming and outgoing mail processing and document imaging
- Collaborate on assigned projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance and transaction approval support for Deposit Operations Associate I staff
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- 2+ years of deposit servicing experience OR 3+ years of banking operations or related experience
- Prior experience in banking, accounting, or finance
- Strong understanding of deposit operations, debits and credits, and basic general ledger entries
- Experience with exception item processing and deposit maintenance workflows
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work professionally across teams
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing systems and procedures
- Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
