Overview
Join to apply for the Power Generation EIT 2 role at GAI Consultants, Inc. The successful candidate will work with the Power Generation Business Sector on primarily renewable energy projects and, when needed, other regional projects. The candidate will be based out of GAI's Richmond, VA, Warrenton, VA or Pittsburgh, PA offices and will perform design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
The role offers the possibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setting, with a team-oriented environment for professional development.
- Site Grading Plans
- Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
- Stormwater Management Plans
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic / Drainage Plans
- Utility Design and Relocation Plans
- Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans
- Geotechnical Investigations
- Permit Applications (earth disturbance permits, building permits, land development plans, high occupancy permits, etc.)
- Access Road Section Development
- Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Quality Control Plans
- Construction Cost Estimates
- Owner's Engineer Support During Construction
- Field Investigations
- Daily/Weekly Construction Inspections
- Earthwork Construction Quality Control
- Compaction Testing
- Concrete Testing
- ESC Inspections
- SWPPP Inspections
- Environmental Monitoring
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, primarily in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States
- Acquires fundamental knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice area through mentored experience.
- Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.

- B.S. or M.S. Engineering
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering-in-Training (EI) certification.
- Performs basic design tasks.
- Assists on tasks such as field activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope. No managerial responsibilities at this level.
- Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments, with mentorship from a licensed engineer.
- Possesses basic oral and written communication skills. Engages in project stakeholder interactions as appropriate.

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field - Required:
