We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract to hire basis in Glen Allen, Virginia. This role requires a proactive individual with strong accounting expertise who can efficiently manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. You will collaborate with staff accountants and AP clerks to ensure seamless financial operations and provide critical support in auditing and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage month-end close activities, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded appropriately.
- Conduct financial statement audits and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with staff accountants and AP clerks to optimize workflows and address operational issues.
- Perform in-depth research and analysis to resolve discrepancies or audit findings.
- Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
- Support financial planning and reporting activities to align with company objectives.
- Implement best practices to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in auditing and financial analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively with accounting staff and provide leadership when necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Net Suite or similar accounting software.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
