ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team, supporting the monthly financial close process, preparing journal entries, and assisting with financial reporting and account reconciliations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic, high-growth environment and develop foundational skills in accounting and financial analysis.
- Assist with monthly financial close activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and maintain account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with tracking and reporting monthly expenses.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with documentation for SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience; internship or insurance industry experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Oracle People Soft is a plus.
