• Provide support as a member of the Grocery team to include receiving and preparing product, maintaining the grocery floor and displays, and selling product in support of WFM standards.
• Perform all functions related to breaking down deliveries and stocking shelves.
• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
• Perform duties in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures.
• Be prepared to perform duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions and support WFM core values and goals.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations including Food Safety and regulatory duties required in the department.
• Maintain a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products.
• Stock and clean grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen and dairy cases; monitor spoilage and communicate waste as needed.
• Maintain back stock in good order; assist with sampling program and keep sample areas full, clean and appealing.
• Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required; assist with periodic inventory checks.
• Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; fulfill scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service; address customer needs in a timely and effective manner; model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; keep equipment in line with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Ability to perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

• Ability to deliver information clearly to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.

• No prior retail experience required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures: below 32°F (freezing), 32-40°F (refrigerators), above 90°F.
