The Role

We are seeking an experienced Highway Project Engineer to join our widely respected and growing Transportation Division in any of our Northeast Office Locations. Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a team of multidisciplinary engineers.
  • Lead the development of transportation project plans for public infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and mentor staff while serving as a task lead.
  • Assemble a complete design package or assigned portions of a larger project.
  • Perform quality control reviews.
  • Attend and lead meetings with public and/or private clients.
  • Represent MJ at industry and professional society events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PE Required.
  • 5‑10 years of progressive roadway engineering analysis and design experience.
  • Project experience with State DOTs required; municipal experience a plus.
  • Multi‑modal and Complete Streets design experience a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365—Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer.
  • Business Development experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Public presentation experience preferred.
  • Experience with proposal writing, scope of work development, and budgeting.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team, develop and maintain client relations, and meet project demands and schedules.
