In this role, you will play a pivotal part in transforming our global inventory management platforms. You will design and implement scalable, low latency, high‑performance services using Java and Spring Boot to deliver best‑in‑class Inventory Management solution. You will also help provide technical leadership in architecture, and contribute to our SAFE agile transformation and Dev Ops optimization leveraging automation tools that support real‑time inventory visibility, reconciliation for completeness, accuracy and timeliness controls.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a strategic platform that underpins the firm’s funding, liquidity, and regulatory reporting capabilities. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Markets, Treasury, Liquid Financing, Operations, Regulatory Reporting across regions. The main objective is to engage with business stakeholders to deliver solutions that are both technically sound and commercially impactful.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have
  • Extensive experience building low‑latency, multithreaded server‑side applications in Java, applying TDD and BDD principles.
  • Expertise in event‑driven frameworks within microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, and related technologies.
  • Strong PL/SQL experience across RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server) and No

    SQL (Mongo

    DB), with hands‑on problem‑solving and optimization skills.
Additional Skills Include
  • Familiarity with messaging platforms like Kafka or Solace.
  • Exposure to cloud‑native development (AWS, Open Shift, Kubernetes/Docker).
  • Understanding of inventory funding, securities lending, and settlement workflows.

This role is based out of our Glasgow office.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions by using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimised for performance.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organisation’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
