Morson are excited to be recruiting on behalf of KAEFER, supporting work on the cutting‑edge Type 26 frigate programme at the iconic Glasgow Shipyards.

This is your chance to play a key role in one of the UK's most prestigious naval shipbuilding projects. We're looking for skilled, time‑served tradespeople ready to make an impact.

We’re Hiring:
  • Marine Joiners

  • Thermal Insulators

Long‑term contracts. Excellent rates. Overtime available. Major programme stability.

Excellent Pay & Benefits
  • Days: £20.09 per hour (PAYE)
  • Nights: £30.14 per hour
  • Weekends: £26.72 per hour (PAYE)
  • Umbrella rates available
  • Plus TICA allowances
  • Overtime with uplifts available

This is consistent, long‑term work on a nationally significant defence programme.

The Role – Industrial Insulator

As part of a skilled team, you'll be responsible for delivering high‑quality thermal and acoustic insulation across complex marine systems.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining insulation on pipework, ducting, tanks, and machinery
  • Measuring and fabricating insulation materials to precise specifications
  • Applying fiberglass, mineral wool, and specialist materials to control heat, prevent condensation, and reduce noise
  • Ensuring all work meets strict safety and industry standards
  • Conducting inspections and maintaining insulation integrity
  • Working safely at height and within demanding shipyard environments
What We’re Looking For
  • Time‑served apprenticeship (essential)
  • Proven marine or heavy industrial experience
  • Strong knowledge of insulation systems and materials
  • Commitment to health & safety excellence
  • Ability to thrive in physically demanding environments
  • Valid safety card/certification (front & back required)
