The Role
SHIFT PATTERN - Covering shifts across Days/Nights/Weekends and Public Holidays
A Front‑of‑House (FOH) Security Officer is the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and contractors entering a building or site. They combine customer service with security professionalism, helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and well‑managed environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage entry and exit points.
- Verify s, visitor passes, and contractor authorisation.
- Prevent unauthorised access.
- Maintain accurate visitor logs.
- Greet visitors and provide directions or assistance.
- Handle enquiries courteously and professionally.
- Coordinate with reception staff or building management.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify risks.
- Monitor CCTV systems (if part of role).
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, and suspicious behaviour.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Follow site‑specific incident response procedures.
- Provide clear communication to control rooms or emergency services.
- Enforce health and safety protocols, including fire safety procedures.
- Assist during evacuations or building lockdowns.
- Conduct security checks on bags, deliveries, or vehicles (if required).
- De‑escalate tense situations using effective communication.
- Manage difficult or aggressive individuals professionally.
- Record incidents accurately for follow‑up or investigation.
- Write detailed incident reports.
- Complete daily occurrence logs.
- Communicate issues to supervisors or facilities/security management.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Professional, calm, and approachable manner.
- Good situational awareness and observation ability.
- Ability to follow procedures and remain consistent.
- Conflict management and de‑escalation skills.
- Reliability and integrity.
