Scot Pulse is Scotland’s largest online research panel dedicated to voicing consumer opinions.

The online panel has over 40,000 members and offers a full range of research services.

Owned by STV, Scot Pulse is dedicated to researching Scotland’s opinions from topical issues to views on market leading brands, products and services.

To support the continued growth of Scot Pulse, we have an exciting opportunity for a Research Executive to join the team. The Research Executive will report to the Scot Pulse Research Director, and the position will be based in STV’s HQ in Glasgow, working on a hybrid basis. In this role, you’ll help bring complex surveys to life to support research that helps inform Scottish opinion and decision- making.

KEY

RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Designing and scripting questionnaires accurately and promptly using specialised software and serving this survey to the Scot Pulse panel.
  • Using initiative to create engaging and interesting questions.
  • Maintaining the panel database, including updating respondents’ details for accuracy.
  • Operationally building survey samples to serve the questionnaire to; managing the survey when live, weighting of dataandensuringqualityof output.
  • Interpretation and analysis of data and presentation of the results.
  • Creating reports in PowerPoint that identify key findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Responding to queries from clients with accuracy, efficiency and clearly communicating the recommended research approach.
  • Updating the Scot Pulse website on a regular basis.
  • Assist in any other aspects of work of the Company as reasonably required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent numerical skills - can interrogate and present large volumes of data in a digestible form.
  • Attention to detail, the ability to work with accuracy and complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated – able to work to deadlines, prioritise projects and deliver results on time.
  • Pro-active approach to learning new research packages skills.
  • Using initiative to create engaging and interesting questions.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, with experience manipulating spreadsheets and using functions such as sorting, basic formulas, pivot tables, and chart creation.
  • Proficient skills across PowerPoint, Word and the wider Office 365 suite.
  • Confident in creating and delivering engaging presentations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of creating and analysing surveys is beneficial.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in aBusiness-related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrable work experience of working in a research related role with knowledge of market and audience research techniques is desirable.
