You will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to the 0-19 year age group in the community by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. Under direction of the Team Lead and Band 6 caseload holder the post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs of the child and family and the development, implementation and evaluation of a holistic family centred care plan.
You will provide advice, support and training to parents and carers; empower parents and carers, to provide care for children at home or in other community settings.
You will work with colleagues from Acute Services, Education, Social Work and the wider Health team in Specialist Community Paediatric Services, as well as all statutory and voluntary agencies to promote joint working and high standards of care.
The post holder will be expected to work throughout the NHS Greater Glasgow area. It is essential that you are an NMC Registered Nurse. You must be able to provide evidence of continued professional development. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills. It is essential that you hold a current driver licence and have access to a car for work purposes.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Location based in Templeton Business Centre
- Permanent Contract
- Part-time position (22.2 hours per week)
- Shift pattern for this post are Monday to Friday
- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
The post holder is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning and implementation of programmes of care as directed by Clinical Nurse Specialist / Team Leader / Senior Staff Nurse.
Programmes of care will be developed in partnership with Patients, Family, Carers and Significant others, and will be evidence based taking into consideration the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health.
The post holder will work in partnership with colleagues, individuals, the local community, health improvement staff and other agencies to identify and address health needs as a member of the health improvement workforce.
- The post holder will identify and utilise appropriate resources to support health promotion activity.
- The post holder will be familiar with and ensure implementation of local, regional and national policies, procedures and guidelines pertinent to their area in the pursuit of the highest standard of care.
- Assist junior members of staff in planning, priority‑setting and decision‑making to ensure that they meet client/family needs.
- Provide leadership and act as a role model for junior members of the team by representing the values and beliefs of the nursing profession as well as that of the organisation.
- The post holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of their own workload as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Specialist / Team Leader / Senior Staff Nurse.
- As a member of the SCPT Nursing team the post holder will be able to support patients, families and carers in order to achieve optimum health and independence.
- Comply with systems to ensure timeous transfer of client records/information to enable continuity of care.
