Details About The Kano FoundationThe Kano Foundation is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to “keeping football free for kids.” We provide full match-day experiences at Celtic Park for children from across the UK and Ireland, ensuring every child—regardless of background—can enjoy live football. As we expand, we are seeking a trustee with digital expertise to strengthen our systems and support our volunteers.
Role PurposeThe Digital Operations Trustee will oversee the charity’s digital systems—email, website, donations, CRM and data security—ensuring they are effective and well managed. They will contribute to strategy, support volunteers, and fulfil all duties expected of a UK charity trustee.
Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Operations
- Manage and oversee the charity’s email systems, website, and online donations.
- Lead implementation and maintenance of a CRM and donor/beneficiary database.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection, and digital security.
- Support volunteers involved in digital and technical tasks.
- Provide digital insight to trustee discussions and strategic planning.
- Maintain digital policies and monitor digital risks.
- Support digital aspects of fundraising, communications, and volunteer coordination.
- Ensure the charity delivers public benefit and complies with its governing document and regulations.
- Act in the foundation’s best interests and manage resources responsibly.
- Experience in digital operations, IT, or web/system management.
- Knowledge of CRM tools, website platforms, email systems and donation platforms.
- Understanding of GDPR and data security.
- Ability to guide and support volunteers.
- Commitment to The Kano Foundation’s mission.
- Charity or volunteer-sector experience.
- Understanding of safeguarding and children’s data.
- Familiarity with platforms like Word Press, Google Workspace, and CRMs.
