General Summary

The Quality Control Welding Inspector will undertake Process & Product verification in line with company systems, regulatory requirements and management direction to ensure parts are fully in accordance with contractual requirements in accordance with the company’s quality management system. This will cover all product lines that are purchased, manufactured, assembled and serviced within the Glasgow (Cathcart) facility. Working in accordance with company policies and procedures to meet external regulations to deliver standards such as: ISO 9001, ASME Certificates of Authorisation, EN 9712 (PCN) and SNT-TC-1A.

Principal

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conducting all activities whilst maintaining the highest level of ethics and integrity.
  • Verification of product manufactured, purchased or assembled, in accordance with applicable drawings, procedures, route cards or other forms of detailed instruction.
  • Maintain self-capability as part of Quality Control team, being flexible to meet business needs in accordance with company procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Perform Visual Inspections of Pre Weld Setups, In process welding activities and completed welds to ensure compliance with applicable PQR’s / WPS. Etc.
  • Monitor welding is in compliance with ITP’s, WPS, PQR’s etc.
  • Monitor use of Weld Consumables in compliance with relevant Weld Procedure.
  • Final Assembly Visual and Dimensional Inspection as per specified drawings and specs.
  • Coordinating with internal departments to identify, define and resolve product quality problems relating to welding / fabrication, whilst providing advice, guidance and support.
  • Conduct weld surveillance, recording necessary data when required by the project.
  • Produce Weld Maps as required by Projects.
  • Support Welder Qualification Testing as required.
  • Complete roll-forwards in SAP for all shared-service and Holdco entities.
  • Promoting and adherence to Clyde Union Ltd Environmental Health and Safety policies, with awareness of the risks and hazards to self, whilst maintaining controls necessary to protect others.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s Procedures in order to deliver and maintain the highest standards of ethical behaviors and be a role model for others.
  • Developing self within role and participate in and develop from training and developmental activities assigned to oneself
  • Commit to training others, to ensure workforce flexibility and meet business demands.
  • Creating and maintaining good working relationships
  • Understanding and using of the correct reporting lines
  • Employees are expected to work whatever reasonable hours are necessary to meet the requirements of their job
  • Travel to sister, vendor or customer sites, and additional duties may be required on an ad hoc basis, so a degree of flexibility is required
  • Conduction all reasonable requests out with core duties to support the business aims.
  • Process compliance in relation to Route Cards and SAP transactions
  • Accuracy on completion of contract documentation
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Visual testing
  • Experience in Fabrication, Welding and Assembly
  • Working knowledge of company SAP System appropriate to function
  • Experience of NDT processes / requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Basic level of computer proficiency
  • Experience of ISO
    9001,NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M, ASNT-TC-1A and EN ISO 9712
  • Basic knowledge of EHS principals
