Job Description
As a working Materials Controller, the post holder will be responsible for receiving, storing and issuing material from Stores to production, loading and unloading trucks, performing cycle counts and investigating the root cause of any discrepancies as well as regular ongoing housekeeping in the Stores area. Availability for shift work and flexibility for overtime work are required.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Take part in product lines meetings
- Provide direction and technical assistance to team members in the factory, related to stores daily tasks
- Train other team members with lower skills
- Manage daily transactions in ERP WMS and SQL database system
- Coordinate the daily transaction reports and escalates any issues accordingly, if required.
- Participate in lean projects and innovations in stores – Focus on improvements on KPI’s.
- Conduct 5S and H&S daily checks.
- Conduct stock investigations and investigate the root cause of any problems.
- Participate in Stores operational improvement projects.
- Basic experience in Oracle, WMS softwares
- Strong evident knowledge in MS Office
- Strong awareness of monitoring and sustaining H&S and 5S standards in working areas.
- Strong evident knowledge in Oracle, Power Pick, MS Office, File Maker and Cumulus
- Knowledge in storage methods of condensed inventory.
- Strong evidence in handling Vertical lift modules and Vertical carousels for handling material.
- Demonstrated problem solving and work prioritisation skills.
- Ability to keep up to date with technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with end‑users, management, and staff.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities involving internal customer requests and demands.
- Ability to excel in a cross‑organisational, cross‑cultural, global team environment.
- Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, and competency.
Working conditions typical of a climate controlled and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Scotland EHS standards.
Quality & Environmental ResponsibilitiesDepending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
