We re currently looking for an Authorisation Team Leader on a full-time fixed term contract basiss until September 2026.
This position sits within the Authorisations team, based in Glasgow.
This role is part of the Regulation and Conduct / Strategy and Governance Executive Directorate and plays a vital part in ensuring ACCA s statutory recognition for audit is maintained, supporting ACCA s strategic delivery plan of achieving and promoting the highest profession, ethical and governance standards.
The JobReporting to the Authorisation Manager on a day-to-day basis, you ll be involved in the following:
- Plan and oversee the work of a small team carrying out the day-to-day operations in order to meet targets and team objectives.
- Ensure the team meets its monthly KPIs and report on achievement of those.
- Closely monitor and manage individual performance within your team in line with monthly KPIs.
- Line manage and supervise Authorisation Officers.
- Manage the operational cycle of the annual UK/Irish and international renewal exercises, including monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to projects relating to the authorisation process and ACCA-wide projects.
- Make recommendations on how to further improve productivity and processes within the Authorisation team to ensure enhancement of processes are identified and achieved.
- Lead on external regulator visits where applicable, and provide support to develop and implement recommendations as set out by external third parties e.g., FRC, IAASA.
- Be an advocate for team engagement, encouraging open discussions across your team to identify priority areas and agree and implement actions.
- Support the Authorisation Manager in appropriately allocating or responding to enquiries across Authorisation and the wider ACCA, including external stakeholders.
We re looking for someone with:
- Experience of managing and leading staff
- Prior experience of working in training environments and supporting team members
- Working in a business improvement environment
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage several jobs at once.
- Confident and clear verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels.
