We’re proud to be supporting a highly respected national law firm with strong local roots as they appoint a Head of Business Performance for Scotland - a key senior leadership position with significant influence across the business.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Board, Managing Partner, and senior leaders across multiple business units. You’ll help shape future strategy, identify growth opportunities, and ensure commercial excellence is embedded at every level.
Responsibilities- Leading integrated business planning, financial forecasting, and performance reporting
- Providing strategic insight to support decision‑making across income, cost, resource, and cashflow targets
- Partnering with leadership on budgets, workforce planning, team structures, and succession strategies
- Driving commercial improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to increase profitability
- Developing business scenarios to respond to changing market and regulatory conditions
- Influencing cross‑functional teams — including BD, People, Client Service & Operations
- Steering annual business cycles and maintaining operational rhythm and discipline
- Embedding a data‑driven, commercially focused culture across the business
- Contributing to leadership development and supporting capability uplift across teams
- Acting as a change ambassador and trusted advisor during transformation initiatives
- Deputising for the Director of Business Performance when required
- Proven commercial leadership experience within a large law firm or complex professional services environment
- Strong track record influencing senior stakeholders and driving commercial outcomes
- Deep financial understanding, including P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful action
- Strategic insight with the ability to identify long‑term improvements and opportunities
- Experience improving operational processes and ways of working
- Strong people‑leadership credentials with a focus on engagement, development, and retention
- A passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and service quality
