Contract Manager – Overview

Location: Scotland (between Edinburgh and Glasgow)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday

What you’ll do: We’re looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our Rail & Infrastructure division, managing projects across Scotland.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day delivery of multiple projects, balancing client needs, safety, quality, programme and cost. You’ll lead site managers and field teams, oversee project planning and documentation, and act as a key point of contact for our clients – building strong, trusted relationships along the way.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the full project lifecycle, from planning through to delivery
  • Leading and developing site managers and field teams
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
  • Managing client relationships and providing clear project updates
  • Overseeing compliance with HSQE and rail industry standards
  • Identifying opportunities for future works and business growth
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a management role within rail, infrastructure or a related sector
  • Strong project, people and stakeholder management skills
  • NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Rail experience, COSS and SMSTS are desirable (training available if needed)
