As a Yard Controller, you take our award‑winning service directly to our customers’ doors and bring the Northgate experience to life. You don’t necessarily need any previous experience to join our team as a Yard Controller, just a can‑do attitude and the confidence to deliver a great service with a smile (plus a full UK or EU driving licence). Our Glasgow branch is a large, high‑profile site that delivers maintenance, servicing, and warranty work for a fleet of c2500 vehicles and is one of the busiest workshops in the country.

As the lead branch in Scotland, it also supports a further c.2000 vehicles from our Broxburn, Stirling and Aberdeen branches in the surrounding network.

The state‑of‑the‑art facility is our biggest yet, boasting 9 ramps to keep you moving with unparalleled efficiency. We’re also proud to have Auxillis running out of this location, making it a fully integrated branch where all your vehicle hire and accident management needs are covered under one roof.

As a Yard Controller you are often the face of Northgate for our customers and play an integral role in enabling us to consistently provide the first‑class experience they demand. Part of a busy branch team, you will work closely supporting both rentals and the workshop, while ensuring the site is clean, safe and secure. You’ll also deliver vehicles in busy periods.

The little things make a big difference: a warm, friendly approach, taking the time to explain the vehicle and documents or answering queries in a helpful and positive way. We expect you to treat our fleet vehicles as you would your own – your eye for detail plays a vital part in capturing on‑ and off‑hire condition, helping reduce the financial risk to the business too.
