Community Facilities Technician (Part-Time, Permanent)

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Facilities Technician to join our team in East Dunbartonshire on a part-time, permanent basis. This role is key to ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective day-to-day operation of a school environment.
You’ll be responsible for routine maintenance, basic repairs, and site management activities, working independently during scheduled hours while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Key responsibilities
* Opening and closing the school in line with required occupancy times
* Carrying out internal and external building checks and reporting faults (e.g. damaged tiles, leaks) to the Help Desk
* Completing non-specialist repairs as required
* Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed within agreed timescales
* Managing visitor sign-in/sign-out procedures and key control
* Ensuring site inductions are completed for contractors and visitors
* Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements for works on site
* Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
* Supporting the safe and compliant operation of the school at all times

* Understanding of safe working practices and health & safety legislation
* Ability to work independently
* Well-organised with the ability to prioritise workload
* Flexible and collaborative approach to teamwork
* Previous experience working in a maintenance environment
Desirable:
* Experience in a Facilities or Maintenance Technician role
