Regulatory/Public Lawyer – Energy Network Pricing Controls
Excellent opportunity for a Regulatory/ Public Lawyer to move in-house and to join a national organisation advising on a range of complex matters, focusing on energy network pricing controls. This role is based in Glasgow, working to a hybrid model of 1 day a week in the office. The role is an initial 6 month fixed term contract.
Role Profile- This high profile in‑house legal team provides legal advice and support on the design of energy network price controls, involving an unprecedented £100 billion investment in energy network infrastructure over the next 5 years to meet the needs of decarbonising the economy and delivering the Government’s Clean Power 2030 ambitions.
- You will be actively involved in any appeals that the energy network licensees may bring to the Competition & Markets Authority following implementation of RIIO‑3 final decisions into their respective licences in the new year, working with the existing legal team and external law firms.
- The team also advises on key risks on the operation of the current RIIO‑2 energy network price control, and the successful candidate may also be involved in advising on more routine requests for legal support.
- Regulatory and/or public law background.
- A high‑profile role within a motivated and expert legal team.
- Familiarity and ability to advise on complex regulatory mechanisms.
- Ability to work at pace, learn new complex policy areas quickly, and identify the heart of a legal issue.
- Support will be provided to the successful candidate.
