The Opportunity:
Ashurst is accelerating the maturity of its IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management capabilities. This Specialist role will report into the Practice Owner of the IT Configuration & Asset Management team to enhance robust CMDB and ITAM controls, improve data quality, and deliver audit‑ready licensing and configuration governance across a global environment.
This person will take a hands on approach in the backend of the SAM point solution (Snow) and will find great satisfaction in continuously delivering a squeaky clean and accurate CMDB across all target classes.
Joining the global IT function and working closely with Service Management, Security, Finance, and regional IT teams, this role will uplift CMDB, asset lifecycle and software compliance processes, ensuring reliable data for service, risk, and financial decisions.
Key responsibilities of the role include:- Operate and maintain the CMDB: CI lifecycle management, dependency mapping, data quality governance, and cross‑tool reconciliation.
- Administer and enhance Snow Software (Atlas/SLM/SMACC/Inventory/SIM), manage DUJs, agents, and data integrity controls.
- Consult on Service Now CMDB and ITAM data foundations; align discovery, integrations and processes.
- Apply evidence‑based audit‑ready operational discipline in managing compliance for key publishers (e.g. Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle).
- Build SQL‑based reconciliations and queries to triangulate inventory, usage and entitlement data.
This is a full‑time, permanent role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working.

About you:The successful candidate will have:
- Expert practitioner in CMDB operations and data quality management with proven experience in service/relationship mapping.
- End to end ITAM/SAM capability across hardware, software, renewals, compliance and optimisation.
- Tooling expertise:
Snow software ideally with Service Now & Cherwell CMDB desirable and familiarity with other discovery tools. - Good communication skills and strong stakeholder engagement across both business/technical audiences.
- SQL skills for extraction, reconciliation scripting and troubleshooting will be well regarded.
- ITIL certification will be advantageous.
