Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re looking for a strategic and hands‑on AI Implementation Specialist to join Phlo at a pivotal stage in our growth.

This is a newly created, full‑time permanent individual contributor role reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, with a clear mission:
help Phlo become an AI‑native organisation by identifying and delivering transformational AI solutions across our business.

This is not about running experiments on the side. It’s about deeply understanding how Phlo operates - across clinical workflows, operations, commercial teams and internal systems - and identifying where AI can fundamentally redesign how work gets done.

You’ll work cross‑functionally to uncover friction, bottlenecks and structural inefficiencies, then design and implement AI‑enabled solutions and AI agents that remove manual effort, accelerate decision‑making and unlock new levels of speed and scale.

Alongside delivering high‑impact use cases, you’ll help build the foundations of sustainable AI adoption - establishing best practices, raising capability across teams and ensuring AI is embedded responsibly and effectively into day‑to‑day operations.

The Job

On a day‑to‑day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Building a deep understanding of how Phlo operates end‑to‑end to uncover transformational AI opportunities
  • Developing strong relationships across clinical, operational, commercial and technology teams
  • Identifying and prioritising high‑impact AI use cases aligned to Phlo’s strategic objectives
  • Translating business problems into practical AI‑enabled solutions and workflows
  • Leading end‑to‑end implementation of AI initiatives from discovery through to deployment and adoption
  • Embedding AI safely into operational and clinical workflows, ensuring regulatory and governance standards are met
  • Defining clear success metrics and tracking measurable impact (efficiency, quality, scalability)
  • Establishing AI implementation playbooks, patterns and best practices
  • Working with teams to develop local AI champions and build organisational capability
  • Driving cultural adoption of AI‑first thinking across departments
  • Acting as the central point of accountability for AI implementation across Phlo
The Person

You’re someone who understands AI deeply - but more importantly, you understand how organisations work and how to change them.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Deep understanding of the modern AI landscape, including LLMs, AI agents, copilots, orchestration tools and workflow automation platforms
  • Strong practical experience designing and implementing AI‑enabled solutions (agents, workflows, decision‑support tools, internal copilots, automation systems etc.)
  • Ability to rapidly prototype, test and iterate AI solutions - and then take them through to real adoption
  • Strong grasp of what makes AI systems reliable in production (evaluation, monitoring, failure modes, governance and risk considerations)
  • A track record of identifying transformational opportunities - not just incremental productivity improvements

Alongside technical and implementation capability, you will also:

  • Be naturally curious about how businesses operate and motivated to deeply understand processes end‑to‑end
  • Demonstrate strong systems thinking - able to see patterns and leverage points across complex workflows
  • Influence and drive change without formal authority, operating effectively as a senior individual contributor
  • Be pragmatic and outcome‑focused - translating AI potential into measurable business impact

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in healthcare or other regulated environments
  • Experience implementing AI agents or AI‑driven workflow systems within operational settings
  • Exposure to high‑growth, scale‑up or transformation environments
The Perks

And in joining Phlo, you’ll receive:

  • Salary between £60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience
  • A rare opportunity to be Phlo’s first dedicated AI hire, with high autonomy to shape how AI is embedded across the business and define the foundations of an AI‑native organisation
  • Opportunity to work alongside a high‑performing, world‑class team in a rapidly scaling Health Tech business, with direct access to senior leadership and the chance to learn how…
