Solution Architect (Contract)

Role: Solution Architect
Term: Initial 6 Months
Rate: Inside IR35
Location: Homebased contract UK - PI planning mandatory every 3 months

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect for a contract position. This role is focused on the architectural design and governance of enterprise scale solutions, bridging the gap between modern cloud native applications and core financial systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that digital ecosystems are scalable, secure, and aligned with long term strategic objectives.

• Solution Design:
  Produce comprehensive High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for finance and operational platforms.
• Modernisation:
  Drive the transition from legacy systems to modern architectures using microservices and micro-frontends.
• Cloud Architecture:
  Design and govern Azure-first solutions, leveraging services such as API Management, Functions, Logic Apps, and Service Bus.
• Integration Strategy:
  Architect API led and event-driven patterns to integrate Infor (ERP) with upstream/downstream systems, ensuring data lineage and auditability.
• Governance:
  Participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Technical Guidance:
  Provide hands‑on steering to Agile development teams to ensure the correct implementation of architectural patterns.

  Experience:
  
  7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect in complex, large-scale enterprise environments.
• Azure Ecosystem:
  Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure (including Azure SQL, Data Lake, Databricks, and Key Vault).
• Development Stack:
  Strong proficiency in the MERN stack (Mongo
  
  DB, Express.js, React, Node.js) and API gateways.
• Finance and ERP:
  Proven experience architecting financial systems (General Ledger, AP/AR, etc.); exposure to Infor is highly advantageous.
• Standards:
  Solid understanding of the Azure Well Architected Framework and secure integration patterns for SaaS platforms.
