The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) at SSE Transmission plays a pivotal role in aligning business objectives with strategic technology and operational initiatives. Acting as a trusted partner and liaison between internal stakeholders, customers and external partners, this position ensures that technology initiatives are aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. The BRM drives value through effective stakeholder engagement, demand management and the translation of business needs into IT solutions.

We are entering an exciting time within the Transmission business. We are investing over £20bn to upgrade the network infrastructure across the north of Scotland between now and 2030 as the region plays a leading role in the clean energy transition.

The role is critical in enabling digital transformation, enhancing customer experience and supporting the delivery of large‑scale projects across the transmission business unit.

The BRM acts as a trusted partner to stakeholders, enabling value creation through technology, process optimisation and cost‑effective service delivery across complex projects and programmes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Strategic Relationship Management:
  Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, customers and delivery partners.
• Demand Management:
  Lead and own the demand planning Gestão, capturing, prioritising and shaping business requirements into actionable IT initiatives.
• Service Improvement:
  Proactively identify and deliver opportunities for optimisation, cost efficiency and enhanced service quality.
• Portfolio Oversight:
  Manage a portfolio of IT and business initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory obligations.

  Experience:
  
  Proven experience in business relationship management and/or stakeholder engagement—ideally within energy, utilities or infrastructure.
• Business & Technical Acumen:
  Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable IT deliverables. Able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across varying levels of technical understanding, ensuring alignment and clarity to business goals.
• Regulatory Awareness:
  Strong understanding of the UK energy regulatory landscape, particularly the role and requirements set by Ofgem.
• Stakeholder Influence & Negotiation:
  Proven ability to influence and negotiate effectively across all levels  desper organisation.
• Clear and Inclusive Communication:
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a way that is accessible and meaningful to 큰 both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
