This role focuses on building automation, monitoring, and alerting capabilities that improve system reliability and speed up issue resolution. You will collaborate with various internal teams to identify gaps, streamline processes, and enhance visibility into the platform. This may involve creating automated solutions, improving observability, refining alerts, or a mix of all three. Close partnership with operations teams will be essential to understand challenges and deliver practical improvements.
Responsibilities- Build automation, monitoring, and alerting capabilities to improve reliability
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify gaps and streamline processes
- Enhance visibility into the platform and refine alerts
- Work with both modern and legacy systems and translate unclear requirements into actionable work
- Communicate effectively with a global team and stakeholders
- Ability to clarify and break down unclear requirements
- Strong Python development skills; familiarity with Perl and/or Power Shell is a bonus
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Cortex
- Proficiency with Ansible
- Strong understanding of REST APIs
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to tackle complex or poorly documented issues
- Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment
- Effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with data protection or backup tools (e.g., Veritas Net Backup)
- Knowledge of data deduplication concepts
- Background in UNIX or Windows Server administration
- Familiarity with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, or S3
- Experience with Kubernetes or Open Shift
- Perl experience
