Our client are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join a growing organisation in Glasgow. This is a hands‑on role supporting the day‑to‑day HR function and working closely with managers and employees across the business.
You’ll be involved in the full employee lifecycle, providing practical HR advice, supporting people initiatives, and ensuring policies and processes are applied consistently and in line with current employment legislation.
The RoleAs an HR Generalist, you will:
- Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear and practical advice in line with policies and employment law
- Support employee relations activities including onboarding, off‑boarding, probation management, absence management, and disciplinary and grievance processes
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR systems and data
- Support recruitment activity, including posting vacancies, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and liaising with hiring managers
- Lead HR onboarding and induction processes, ensuring new starters are set up effectively from day one
- Support performance management processes, including personal development reviews and appraisal systems
- Assist with identifying training and development needs across the business
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of HR processes and procedures
- Review and update HR policies to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice
- Support the administration of the company pension scheme
You’ll be a confident and organised HR professional who enjoys working across a broad range of HR activities. You’ll bring:
- Previous experience in a HR Generalist or similar HR role, ideally within a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, and performance management processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with HR systems (HRIS), including supporting or contributing to system improvements
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience tracking and supporting HR KPIs
Please note you must be able to commute to site 5 days a week and have full eligibility to work in the UK.
