RECOVERY PRACTITIONER

Overview

South Glasgow Hub provides community addiction support offered in the office and in the local community. We support people who want to recover from drug and alcohol use, providing both harm reduction and abstinence pathways. As a recovery practitioner you will carry a caseload of people and support them with their recovery based upon their individual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Carry and manage your own caseload of individuals seeking recovery support.
  • Provide tailored recovery plans and evidence‑based interventions.
  • Build trust, patience, and empathy through strong relationships with clients.
  • Network with partner agencies and provide support in the community as well as within the Hub.
  • Facilitate recovery group sessions and individual meetings.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working in addiction (lived experience is welcome).
  • Knowledge of recovery models, harm reduction, and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong communication and motivational interviewing skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Confidence in managing a varied caseload and prioritising effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
