Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical roles. The North East Crisis Team provides high‑quality, specialist mental health and risk assessment, with a robust treatment plan, to people experiencing acute mental health crises. The team aims to reduce inpatient admissions and minimise length of stay in acute settings by supporting home passes and community discharge when clinically safe.
ResponsibilitiesThe Crisis Practitioner will provide rapid, specialist mental health and risk assessment, develop and implement robust treatment plans, and liaise with key stakeholders including carers, inpatient services, community mental health teams, social work and third‑sector agencies. This is a 7‑day, full‑time position (currently 37 hours per week, to be reduced to 36 hours from 1 April 2026 with a corresponding hourly rate increase). Shifts include 9‑5, 4:30, and 12‑8, with duties across four Community Mental Health Teams Monday–Friday and Stobhill Hospital during out‑of‑hours coverage.
Qualifications- Registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC
- Valid UK driving licence
- Commitment to full‑time work (37 hours, transitioning to 36 hours from 1 April 2026)
