Pharmacy Services – Royal Hospital for Children – Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Paediatric Haematology/Oncology) – Band 7 – 37 hours.
The shift pattern for this post is a 5 out of 7 day work pattern and you will be required to participate in the delivery of pharmacy services at weekends, public holidays and on-call as part of a rota.
An exciting post for a committed and clinical pharmacist has arisen within the Royal Hospital for Children, working as part of the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology pharmacy team.
Responsibilities- Be a patient-focussed clinical practitioner and an active member of the multidisciplinary team delivering safe and effective use of medicines, with particular emphasis on safe prescribing, administration and monitoring of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and associated supportive care.
- Support advancement and service developments within clinical pharmacy, including technician-led medicines management initiatives and pharmacist-led prescribing initiatives.
- Be active in the ongoing development and maintenance of Chemotherapy Electronic Prescribing Systems to support NHSGGC’s compliance with national directives.
- Be an integral member of the Clinical Pharmacist Team in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology and the wider Women and Children’s service, working with the Paediatric Pharmacy, Aseptic Preparation and Paediatric Clinical Trials Teams to provide a consistent, equitable and high-quality clinical pharmacy service to Paediatric Haematology and Oncology patients.
- Relevant post-qualification experience and completion of stage 2 SVTS or equivalent; independent prescriber or working towards IP.
- Experience working within a paediatric or haematology/oncology setting is desirable.
- Excellent management and communication skills with a flexible approach to working.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
