Shift

Pattern

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, consisting of 37 hours per week.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

Role Overview

Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (GADRS) are seeking an enthusiastic, recovery‑focused individual to provide administrative support to North West Recovery Communities. The post holder must have lived experience of problematic alcohol and/or drug use, or be able to demonstrate a commitment to supporting people with lived and living experience of alcohol and/or drug use. It is essential that the post holder is a proficient typist with excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to relate to a wide range of disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Process referrals and enquiries on a daily basis utilising systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Telephone answering and reception duties.
  • Process referrals and support volunteers and recovery staff in the preparation of presentations.
  • Volunteer registration.
  • Minute taking and arranging meetings.
  • Recording and monitoring budgetary information and processing invoices.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Lived experience of problematic alcohol and/or drug use or demonstrated commitment to working with such populations.
  • Proficient typist with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to a wide range of disciplines.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
