Pharmacy Technician – Bank Band 4
Responsibilities- You will oversee the supply of medicines to wards and departments, including high-cost medicines.
- You will accuracy check dispensed medicines in accordance with national guidelines and local standard operating procedures.
- You will be responsible for accurately processing ward orders for medicines using the pharmacy electronic stock management system.
- You will assist in the supervision of pharmacy support workers and pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians.
- You will perform controlled drug audits at ward level and in the main pharmacy department and investigate discrepancies in accordance with local standard operating procedures.
- You will support the training and development of pharmacy support workers, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists.
- You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have a recognised dispensary accuracy checking qualification.
- You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, be able to work independently and as part of a team, be able to use your own initiative and be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and that of others.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week
. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
