Strategic Modeller - Telco - London - £500 to £750 / day Your new company You’ll be joining a high‑growth, ambitious organisation where strategy genuinely matters and finance has a seat at the top table. The business is making big decisions about where to invest, how to scale, and how to balance growth with discipline, and it relies heavily on robust long‑range planning to do that well.

If you enjoy shaping direction rather than just reporting on it, you’ll feel right r new role This is a senior, hands‑on strategy and modelling contract focused on owning the organisation’s model across annual, 3‑year and 5‑year horizons.

You’ll build and run the models that underpin strategic planning, investment decisions and executive conversations. Acting as the single source of truth, you’ll bring together assumptions, scenarios and risks into clear, decision‑ready outputs that senior leaders can trust. This role sits right at the intersection of strategy, finance and the exec, with real influence over how the business plans and prioritises.

You’ll be responsible for:
Building and owning integrated models across short, medium and long‑term horizons Developing scenario and sensitivity analysis to test strategic choices and trade‑offs Translating complex drivers into clear, compelling insights for senior leaders Creating structure, governance and cadence around annual, 3‑year and 5‑year planning Partnering with finance, strategy and functional leaders to pressure‑test assumptions Leaving behind scalable models, documentation and processes that stick This is not a maintenance role, it’s about clarity, direction and impact.

What you'll need to succeed This role is ideal for a seasoned contractor who enjoys big‑picture thinking but is still happy deep in the detail. You’ll bring:
Significant experience in strategic finance or corporate strategy Proven ownership of long‑range planning models Strong understanding of annual, 3‑year and 5‑year planning cycles Advanced financial modelling skills (integrated models, scenarios, sensitivities) Confidence engaging and challenging senior stakeholders A structured mindset that brings order to ambiguity The pace and pragmatism to deliver in a fast‑moving environment If you like roles where your work directly shapes strategy, and where leadership actually uses your output, this will be a very satisfying assignment.
