Role DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting processes. This position requires strong organisational skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and receipts.
- Maintain financial records by entering data into accounting software - Sage.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Assist in the reconciliation of bank statements and financial discrepancies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing and data entry tasks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding financial transactions.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Workday, Quick Books, People Soft, or Sage is essential.
- Previous experience in a financial services environment or similar role is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Good numerical skills and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with data entry tasks is preferred.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
