Job Description & How to Apply Below

Engage Talent are working on a Retained Search Partnership Agreement to recruit a Chief Financial Officer based in Aberdeen.

Our client is a private equity funded, growth-focused, clean energy business headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland. The company has been established to deliver commercially viable energy infrastructure projects that support industrial decarbonisation and the broader transition to a low-carbon economy.

With two major projects already underway representing a combined value of approximately £1.5 billion, the business has moved beyond concept stage and into active delivery. They have a defined strategy with future projects planned across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

This is a pivitol, hands-on Chief Financial Officer position in a scale up organisation. You will work directly with the Board and Investors to design and implement the financial architecture of the business, supporting immediate project delivery while enabling long‑term scale and international expansion.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead financial strategy aligned to long‑term growth objectives.
  • Drive M&A activity including acquisitions, divestments, due diligence, structuring and integration.
  • Lead project lifecycle financing from development through construction to operation.
  • Develop and manage advanced investment and project finance models.
  • Secure and structure equity and debt funding.
  • Oversee UK taxation planning and compliance.
  • Advise on international taxation matters.
  • Establish scalable governance frameworks, reporting structures and internal controls.
  • Provide commercially robust analysis to inform strategic decisions.

Applicants will be degree-qualified and hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). The successful candidate will bring demonstrable board or senior‑level experience, with deep expertise in M&A, tax structuring, and project finance, together with international operating experience.

An executive-level remuneration package is on offer, commensurate with the seniority and strategic importance of the role. This includes base salary, performance‑related bonus, car allowance, private medical insurance, and enhanced pension contribution.

Confidential applications are invited. Please submit your CV for immediate review.
