Santander UK is looking for a Compliance Monitoring Manager based out of Glasgow or Milton Keynes
.
The Compliance & Non-Financial Risk (“CNFR”) function has a key role in helping Santander UK to manage and minimise its exposure to conduct and regulatory risk. The role of the Compliance Monitoring & Testing team is to help the business in ensuring that they protect the best interests of our customers, that they maintain a high level of integrity in complying with the requirements of the FCA or other regulators, whilst remaining commercial.
The Monitoring and Testing Manager will be responsible for leading the design and execution of Compliance Monitoring (CM) reviews which assess and provide assurance over the effectiveness of the bank’s systems and controls in delivering good customer outcomes and managing non-financial conduct and regulatory risks across retail, business and corporate banking.
To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:- Leading the planning and execution of CM to assess the effectiveness of the bank’s systems and controls to deliver good customer outcomes and manage non-financial conduct and regulatory risks.
- Managing review teams, ensuring full accountability for scoping, testing and reporting, considering FCA and other consumer-focused regulatory requirements.
- Recommending and overseeing the execution of appropriate and timely actions to enhance control frameworks and improve customer outcomes.
- Producing high-quality reports which communicate findings, risks and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Utilising effective stakeholder management and leadership, including formal stakeholder engagement and management at all levels of the business.
- Supporting the development and ongoing maintenance of the risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan and associated methodology.

Required Professional Experience- Proven ability to lead end-to-end risk-based compliance reviews focusing on non-financial conduct and regulatory risks, including planning, testing and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of conduct and regulatory risk assurance methodologies, risk management frameworks and control environments across retail banking, consumer credit, investments, as well as business and corporate banking.
- Excellent understanding of UK regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty, FCA Handbook (including COBS, MCOB, ICOBS, BCOBS, PROD, DISP) and other consumer-focused regulatory requirements.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate and communicate complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams and functions at a senior level.
