Management Accountant

Role Overview

The Management Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, including accurate and timely revenue recognition and both cost of sales and overheads variance analysis. The role also ensures indirect tax compliance across the global entities and provides financial insight to the senior leadership team through board pack preparation and commentary, and customer performance analysis.

What will you be doing?

• Assist in the month end close process to deliver precise and comprehensive financial results
• Maintain general ledger integrity, including reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset register maintenance and depreciation calculations
• Payroll accounting, liaising with the payroll team to ensure correct financial postings
• Maintain and reconcile deferred income schedules, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in line with accounting policies
• Support the Finance Manager who is Finance lead for ERP system (e.g. system admin, continuous improvement, user support)
• Drive process efficiencies and automation within the ERP
• Manage VAT, GST, and other indirect tax returns, ensuring timely submission and compliance with relevant regulations
• Liaise with tax advisors and auditors as required
• Assist with external and internal audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor queries.
• Ensure financial records and controls are audit-ready and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly Board pack and financial reporting for senior leadership
• Perform variance analysis (actuals vs budget/forecast), providing insights and commentary to support business decisions, including customer profitability and viability.

Who are we looking for?

• Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting.
• Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office.
• Analytical mind with aptitude in math.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A problem-solver with attention to detail.
• Organizational and leadership skills.
• BSc/BA in accounting, finance or similar field.
• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CGMA) will be preferred.
