You’ll be trusted to lead sophisticated advisory and dispute work, working closely with senior stakeholders and specialists across the wider firm. The role offers the perfect balance of technical depth, commercial thinking, and visibility, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building a reputation as a go-to VAT adviser.

With strong backing from senior leadership, a collaborative culture, and access to a broad and varied client base, you’ll be able to grow your profile, expand your advisory impact, and continue developing your career in one of the most dynamic areas of tax.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the delivery of high-quality VAT advisory projects across a wide range of technical areas, including land and property, financial services, partial exemption, international matters, and transactional support.

Alongside advisory work, you’ll manage VAT disputes and support clients through enquiries, alternative dispute resolution, and, where required, litigation. You’ll work closely with colleagues across tax, audit, and corporate finance to deliver joined-up solutions on multidisciplinary engagements.

You’ll also play an active role in developing client relationships and growing the VAT offering, contributing to business development through networking, referrals, and identifying new opportunities within an existing client base.

What you’ll need

• Strong experience in VAT advisory gained within a practice environment

• Excellent working knowledge of UK VAT legislation and case law

• Experience handling VAT disputes and engaging with HMRC

• Confidence advising clients on complex and technical VAT issues

• A commercially minded approach with strong communication skills

• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential

• Motivation to lead your own work, develop your expertise, and contribute to growth

The firm is known for its collaborative culture, commitment to learning, and genuine investment in its people. With a broad sector spread, a comprehensive tax offering, and international reach through a global network, this is an environment where VAT specialists can thrive, build long-term client relationships, and make a meaningful impact both professionally and personally.
