iMultiply is partnering with a private equity‑backed, multi‑site professional services group to appoint a Group Financial Controller into a newly created role. This opportunity sits within a business that has recently completed a significant investment round and is now executing a clearly defined buy‑and‑build strategy, combining organic growth with a strong pipeline of acquisitions across the UK. The appointment is part of a deliberate strengthening of the finance leadership team to support long‑term value creation.
TheOpportunity
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a critical role in building a scalable, PE‑grade finance function capable of supporting rapid growth, integration activity and increasing governance requirements. This is a hands‑on leadership role offering meaningful exposure to board‑level reporting, acquisitions, post‑deal integration and strategic planning. The successful candidate will act as the FD’s right‑hand partner, taking ownership of financial control while helping shape the future operating model of the group.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a growing finance team, embedding strong controls and clear accountability
- Own monthly management accounts, group consolidation and KPI reporting
- Deliver statutory accounts and manage the external audit process
- Strengthen financial controls, policies, procedures and reporting frameworks
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and rolling cashflow planning
- Act as a key contributor to M&A activity, including due diligence, integration and reporting alignment
- Produce investor‑ready board packs and performance analysis
- Support banking relationships, working capital management and liquidity planning
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders across operational and commercial teams
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in a multi‑entity / group environment
- Background in private equity‑backed, acquisitive or transaction‑led businesses strongly preferred
- Proven capability in scaling finance functions and improving controls
- Comfortable operating in an evolving, fast‑paced environment
- Commercial, detail‑oriented and confident working with senior leadership and investors
- Strong systems and Excel capability
