Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

Location:

Glasgow or Perth - Hybrid working 2-3 days a week onsite

Contract:

Full-time | 6 Months with the potential to extend

Salary:
Up to £400 per day via Umbrella

You'll be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls and supporting key reporting processes. This includes month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of statutory accounts. You’ll also liaise with operational teams and respond to audit queries, helping maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.

• Deliver accurate and timely month-end close activities
• Prepare and review post month-end balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory deadlines
• Respond to external audit queries and ensure compliance with financial controls
• Liaise with operational site teams to support financial reporting and performance
• Adhere to and enhance robust financial control processes

• Fully qualified with a recognised accounting body and 1-2 years of post‑qualification experience
• Able to work to tight timescales while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Diligent and methodical, with a willingness to support ad hoc tasks
• Strong working knowledge of core financial systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Confident in constructively challenging and supporting colleagues to drive improvement
• Proactive approach to problem solving
